Missing TDP or LEDs control

Dealing with TDP or LEDs control in ASUS laptops

Missing TDP control or LED control

So you installed a supported distro and either LEDs or TDP are not controllable. That's not good and you are a bit sad. It's okay, those problems can usually be solved easily with a bit of help!

Why?

There are two big tables: one in kernel and one in asusd for TDP and LEDs respecively. Those tables are probably missing your model and simply adding it will solve the issue.

Prerequisites

To be able to solve the issue you will need a win-to-go installation as described in the Intro guide.

Missing TDP control

Grab your data and send it in the ppt data collection and drop a note on Discord, it will be added when I find some free time. For a technical analysis of how I do it you can watch the process of me doing it: Adding PPT values from armoury crate.

Missing LED control

Same thing as for missing TDP control, except this time the table is in asusd software: aura_support.ron add your model in this file locally, test changes (after rebooting your laptop) and if they work fork the repo, add the model and send a PR on the original repo: I will merge it as soon as possible and other users will have it available by default.

What your model supports can be easily found in the official asus armoury crate software.
